Health At Every Size (HAES)

Health At Every Size (HAES) is a healthcare framework which, above all, is committed to weight inclusivity, where both the idealization of thinness and the pathologizing of fatness are rejected. In a world characterized by increasing obsession with controlling and moralizing body size and shape, it can be exorbitantly difficult to find care (therapy or otherwise) where the worldview of the provider is not profoundly coloured by anti-fat bias. As a thin healthcare provider, I take very seriously the need to educate myself about anti-fat bias, and listen to experiences of plus size scholars, activists and clients. I am passionate about supporting clients in deconstructing the pseudo science behind diet culture and weight stigma, and providing weight affirming resources and care.
